(I haven't checked this out personally - I got them in a giveaway on GOG 9 years ago. I think it's the same versions with the fixes and patches, but you might want to check if you need to patch visible children back in!)

Thanks for answering the catering poll! We're getting the White Gloves to cater. I was alarmed at the Gourmand's winelist prices considering the vault's budget, so you're getting no more than one glass of wine each, but don't be disappointed! Happy birthday, Fallout!

It's Fallout's 25th anniversary this month! 25 years of Fallout!

3 other story games are celebrating their birthdays this month, too: Fallout 2 will turn 24, Fallout 3 will be 14, and Fallout: New Vegas will be 12. (Fallout 4, baby of the family, has its 7th birthday in November.)

Have you been a fan for the whole 25 years? Many Fallout fans are years away from their own 25th birthdays :) I expect many people working on the next game will be younger than the series, too!

Character creation

I started playing Tactics for the first time, but I've given up for now - I didn't really enjoy it.

One thing I did really like was the ability to customise your character's in-game appearance. That's not a thing in FO1/2, aside from male/female. So being able to change hair and skin colour was fun.

Fic writers: there's a FNV request in the pinchhits at raremaleslashex for an Arcade Gannon/Vulpes Inculta fic (1k min). Apart from their general DNW, you should pay attention to their ship-specific DNW which immediately ruled out every idea I had literally as I was coming up with it lmao. It's due on the 23rd of July if you're interested.

What do you think of vault13?

I'm not actually the Overseer and I can't actually exile you "to find a water chip", so be honest :)

For example, is the theme too much? It's fun but it's only like 50% readable. Are you just reading longer posts in the light style/your style, when they're not just on your reading page?

What kinds of posts would you like to see here? Are the recs/off-topic threads too limiting? My only real wish is that the comm doesn't become just a bunch of links to fics on AO3 with absolutely no discussion. I'm pretty new to DW and I've seen a lot of comms that have ended up like that, or maybe always been like that, but I think if all you want is to look for Fallout fics on AO3, you can just go there, right? I'm open to any suggestions short of that, including something like "Spam-your-fics Sundays" or whatever! And it's always fine to post links to your own stuff along with some kind of discussion, whether fics or mods or whatever else.

If you feel shy about posting short stuff 1. don't!! 2. I could make a recurring thread for it?

Also, anyone can post polls in this comm! So if that's something you'd like to do, check it out.

Fallout shipping and rarepairs

I wanted to write something for Rarepair Hell Weekend, but I don't think I'll get around to it. But there's still time for anyone to take part!

According to the loose rules in that post, literally any Fallout ship (or friendship!) would count as a rarepair. I wrote some thoughts about Fallout shipping trends. What do you think?

Do you have any Fallout ships? I'm not counting Player Character/Best Weapon, but, well, in a world where light switches make passes at you, maybe it's a possibility! (Personally I'm very invested in my headcanon Boone&Gobi Campaign Rifle devoted partnership that ends with a man stuffing his best friend into a small locker after they conspire together to kill his wife.)
